About the role

You support safety digitalisation development through policy, education, and governance, working with various agencies to realise and sustain the goal of "Digital to the Core" in the safety domain for the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

What you will be working on

• Develop digitalisation communication and strategy
• Implement SAF Safety Data Architecture
• Lead SAF efforts in Artificial Intelligence (AI) experimentation for safety
• Coordinate and support the Deputy Director in leading the Community of Practice (COP)
• Streamline and improve process and cost efficiency by developing basic in-house capabilities in safety data science and artificial intelligence
• Share and learn from experience to raise SAF data quotient

What we are looking for

• Education in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or any related field
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and managing projects with multiple stakeholders and trade-offs

• Proficiency in digitalisation and coding is advantageous

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders and trade-offs

About the role

You are responsible for conducting systems-level and systems-related review matters.

What you will be working on

• Identify MINDEF/SAF systems for review
• Develop and implement workplans for these reviews
• Convene review panels for specific MINDEF/SAF systems
• Conduct in-house reviews in specific areas of interest
• Develop and publish review reports

• Staying updated on the latest developments in workplace safety-related policies

What we are looking for

• Education in Business Studies, Safety, or a related field
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in Safety, managing projects with multiple stakeholders and trade-offs
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Related qualifications or proficiency in digitalisation and coding is advantageous

About the role

You advise the unit Commanding Officer (CO) in planning, organising, directing, and evaluating all safety efforts within the Battalion.

What you will be working on

• Plan, organise, direct, and evaluate safety efforts within the Battalion
• Assist in crafting the Battalion Safety Policy
• Develop a safety program focused on accident prevention
• Initiate regular research and review of safety policies and operational procedures
• Formalise and disseminate safety regulations

Challenge(s)

• Balancing the need for realistic military training with safety requirements
• Protecting soldiers from unnecessary dangers during peacetime training

What we are looking for

• Education in technical or scientific fields
• Prior military experience in high-risk vocations is advantageous

About the role

You oversee the Safety Management System and safety culture development at the Command level, which includes making scheduled inspections and visits to workplaces and deployment grounds.

What you will be working on

• Work with line units and Unit Safety Officers (USOs) to promote open reporting and investigate safety incidents
• Supervise development of safety officers
• Function as Command's primary interface with the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) Safety Inspectorate

Challenge(s)

• Maintaining familiarity with safety matters in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), industry, and governmental bodies
• Navigating the SAF and DIS organisational networks to establish new working relationships and enhance existing processes

What we are looking for

• At least 6 years of working experience, with minimum 3 years in safety or equivalent aspects
• Qualifications in Workplace Safety or equivalent field or being qualified ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor with an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) or its equivalent is preferred

About the role

You conduct training safety inspections on sub-units and assist in the conduct of safety management audits.

What you will be working on

• Provide advice on safety-related matters
• Monitor open reporting of safety incidents, near misses, hazard reports, and safe/unsafe practices
• Develop case study materials from inspections or investigations
• Disseminate safety information to stakeholders

Challenge(s)

• Internalising all Army safety regulations to ensure compliance by all sub-units

What we are looking for

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Workplace Safety field or at least 10 years of relevant work experience in the military field
• Professional certificates such as Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Certification or other Certified Safety Professional (CSP) qualifications is advantageous
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to sieve out key observations through training safety inspections

About the role

You serve as the principal safety trainer and educator to raise safety awareness and standards in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Medical Corps by developing, implementing, and monitoring the safety training and education programme in the Medical Corps.

What you will be working on

• Develop, implement, and monitor safety training and education programme
• Conduct safety audits of SAF's medical training and clinical facilities
• Carry out safety investigations to determine causal factors of accidents and near misses
• Recommend remedial actions to prevent recurrence of safety incidents
• Compile and present regular safety updates and reports at relevant meetings

Challenge(s)

• Internalising safety culture in the attitude and behaviour of SAF Medical Corps staff
• Ensuring safety implementation becomes second nature during both work and play

What we are looking for

• Education in Nursing, Medical or Biomedical Sciences
• At least 5 years of working experience
• Registration with relevant local authority (e.g. Singapore Nursing Board) for healthcare workers
• Keen eye for detail to scrutinise policies, workflows, and processes
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with different stakeholders
• Ability to multitask
