About the role

You formulate strategies and policies to strengthen the Defence Industry Ecosystem’s ability to support future requirements of MINDEF/SAF amidst an evolving and fast-changing landscape.

What you will be working on

• Perform horizon scanning of emerging threat vectors
• Identify opportunities and synergies for defence industry development
• Provide analysis and highlight potential trade-offs
• Articulate considerations to senior management

Challenge(s)

• Understanding complex policy issues in the defence industry context
• Providing sound analysis of multifaceted security and industry challenges

What we are looking for

• At least 6 years of work experience in planning and policy formulation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and planning skills

You play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Singapore's defence and external security interests.

What you will be working on

• Develop strategies to advance Singapore's security objectives
• Advocate for Singapore as a security cooperation partner of choice in the region
• Track geopolitical and security developments
• Advise MINDEF leadership on implications and policy responses for both near and long-term
• Identify opportunities and risks, and form timely, relevant and forward-looking solutions

Challenge(s)

• Staying abreast of developments in the changing security environment and emerging technologies
• Navigating complex geopolitical landscapes

What we are looking for

• Backgrounds from diversified fields, including STEM-related disciplines, are welcome
• Keen interest in international affairs and security issues
• Strong analytical abilities
• Capacity to think flexibly and innovatively
• Excellent writing and presentation skills
• Proactive and collaborative team player mentality
