About the role

You oversee the development of psychological interventions to enhance the cognitive and psychological performance of sailors and crews within the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

 

What you will be working on

  • Design and implement research to identify performance barriers specific to the Naval context
  • Validate the effectiveness of possible psychological interventions
  • Integrate and proliferate validated interventions into policy, training, and operational systems
  • Keep abreast of developments relevant to performance psychology in the Navy
  • Horizon scan for innovative solutions to address performance issues
  • Collaborate with other ministries, academic institutions, and professional agencies
  • Advance the practice of performance psychology within the RSN

About the role

You are the psychological health consultant to the Division/Formation/Command you are affiliated to.

 

What you will be working on

  • Develop overall psychological health strategy and workplan for your affiliated Division/Formation/Command
  • Engage commanders/supervisors to understand their needs and organisational context
  • Plan well-being initiatives (e.g., Division/Formation/Command and unit well-being days) and organise activities, talks, and visits
  • Monitor well-being status and present findings at key forums
  • Work with commanders/supervisors to develop interventions when necessary
  • Provide one-on-one support to service personnel (e.g., interviews, counselling, life skills training)
  • Partner with commanders/supervisors to resolve workplace adjustment issues
  • Advise on deployment options and management plans
  • Train commanders/supervisors on managing psychological health challenges in the workplace

About the role

You serve as the subject matter expert for all psychology-related matters in the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS), providing a spectrum of organisational and operational psychological support during peacetime and operations.

 

What you will be working on

  • Provide organisational and operational psychological support to the DIS
  • Design and implement systems to ensure job-fit of DIS personnel
  • Monitor organisational effectiveness of the DIS and develop appropriate intervention strategies
  • Remove barriers and promote enablers for DIS personnel to meet work demands
  • Lead and train a group of Defence Psychologists in supporting the DIS
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date, industry-aligned psychological systems
