Enhancing Cooperation to Fight Maritime Crime

24 Nov 22

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime's Global Maritime Crime Programme (UNODC GMCP) and our Information Fusion Centre (IFC) signed a Letter of Cooperation on 24 Nov 2022.

The Letter of Cooperation was signed by Ms Siri Bjune, Head of Global Maritime Crime Programme and Deputy Head IFC, LTC Daniel Ng to formalise cooperation between UNODC and IFC to share information and establish processes in the conduct of maritime security operations.

Additionally, both IFC and UNODC committed to the co-hosting of the next iteration of the Head of Centre Meeting under the Forum of National Maritime Fusion Centres at next year's Maritime Security Information Sharing Exercise. It will bring together regional maritime agencies and law enforcement entities to promote capacity building opportunities and technologies for maritime information-sharing.

It is only through the cooperation amongst maritime agencies that we can continue to ensure #SafeandSecureSeasForAll.
