Meeting Fellow Navy Chiefs at the 13th Trans-Regional Seapower Symposium

09 Oct 22

Our Chief of Navy RADM Aaron Beng attended the 13th Trans-Regional Seapower Symposium (T-RSS) in Venice, Italy from 5 to 7 Oct last week. This was the first T-RSS since the COVID-19 pandemic, and served as an excellent opportunity for navy leaders to meet face-to-face and discuss common issues of interest.

Hosted by the Italian Navy, the theme for the 13th T-RSS was "A Blue Cluster Approach in the Ocean Decade". More than 50 navies and 100 international organisations attended the symposium, and had open discussions on maritime-focused topics ranging from the environment, technology, and security.

It was also an opportunity for our Chief of Navy (left) and the Chief of German Navy VADM Jan Christian Kaack (right) to meet face-to-face! Both leaders had previously met in an introductory meeting via tele-conference earlier in May this year.

RADM Beng also met several navy counterparts and discussed on ways to strengthen bilateral relationships, increase engagement, and enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
