Recently, we welcomed the French Navy's (FN) aircraft carrier strike group, FS Charles de Gaulle, Aquitaine-class frigate FS Alsace and Horizon-class frigate FS Forbin, at RSS Singapura - Changi Naval Base from 3 to 10 Mar 2025, as part of their Mission Clemenceau 25.
Our Formidable-class frigate RSS Stalwart conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with FS Alsace, including serials such as manoeuvring exercises (first photo) and a sail-past (second photo) to enhance mutual understanding.
Beyond maritime exercises, the visit facilitated valuable professional exchanges. One of such exchanges was between our Navy's Naval Engineering and Logistics Command and the FN's engineering team, strengthening knowledge-sharing on maintenance and engineering best practices.
Commander of the French Armed Forces in the Asia-Pacific, Rear Admiral (RADM) Guillaume Pinget (left), also called on RSN's Fleet Commander, RADM Kwan Hon Chuong (right). The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both navies to deepening defence cooperation and maritime security.
The visit of Mission Clemenceau 25 to Singapore and our interactions reflects the strong relationship between our navies, as well as our commitment to enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation.
