Passage Exercise with ROKS Gang Gam-chan

29 Oct 23

On 28th October 23, our Republic of Singapore's (RSN) Formidable-class frigate RSS Tenacious conducted a passage exercise with the Republic of Korea Navy's (ROKN) Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin-class destroyer ROKS Gang Gam-chan. The exercise was conducted in waters east of Geoje Island, Republic of Korea.

Both RSN and ROKN personnel conducted planning ashore on board RSS Tenacious. This allows them to agree on how their ships will conduct their exercise serials, as well as to highlight the modes of communication they will use during the exercise out at sea.

Another exercise serial that the ships conducted was "Replenishment-at-Sea approach", also known as RASAP. Such a serial requires clear and concise communication between ships because ships will typically close in to around 80 to 100 metres.

With the completion of the exercise serials, the passage exercise concluded successfully. We wish our friends from the ROKN Fair Winds & Following Seas!
