1. What is Navy Experience 2024?
The Navy Experience 2024 (NAVEX24) is an exclusive interactive tour for visitors to learn more about the Singapore Navy and to understand more about our mission in the defence for Singapore. At the NAVEX24, you will have a chance to see the ins and outs of RSS Singapura — Changi Naval Base through a windshield tour, visit one of our Formidable-class frigates, tour our Singapore Navy Museum and learn more about the various vocations available in the Navy at our Invent Campus.
2. Where and when will NAVEX24 be held?
NAVEX24 will be held at RSS Singapura — Changi Naval Base from 9 November to 10 November 2024. However, all ticket holders are to register themselves at Changi City Point’s Foyer and a chartered bus will be arranged to ferry all visitors in and out of RSS Singapura — Changi Naval Base.
No pick-ups or drop-offs are allowed at RSS Singapura — Changi Naval Base and the bus will move directly from Changi City Point into RSS Singapura — Changi Naval Base.
3. How can I get to Changi City Point?
By MRT: Take the East-West Line or Downtown Line, and alight at Expo Station (CG1/DT35)
By Bus: Services 118, 2, 47, 728, 742
By Taxi: Drop off at Level 1 Lobby at Changi City Point (5 Changi Business Park Central 1, Singapore 486038)
By Car: From Tampines Expressway (TPE) take Exit 2A
Changi City Point Shuttle Bus Service: Changi City Point provides free shuttle bus service from Flora Road and Flora Drive to Changi City Point.
4. Can I drive to RSS Singapura - Changi Naval Base?
No, visitors are not allowed to drive directly to RSS Singapura — Changi Naval Base. Drivers are advised to park their vehicles at Changi City Point or other public car parks near Changi City Point. The registration for NAVEX24 will be at Changi City Point where the chartered bus will ferry all guests into Changi Naval Base for their tour.
5. What can I expect to see at NAVEX24?
Expect a unique maritime experience with the Singapore Navy where you will be brought through a guided windshield tour of RSS Singapura — Changi Naval Base, step on board one of our Formidable-class frigates, discover our maritime history and naval traditions at the Singapore Navy Museum, and find out more about the different parts of our Navy at INVENT Campus.
6. How long is NAVEX24?
The expected duration for NAVEX24 from the point of boarding at Changi City Point to drop off is approximately three hours.
7. Can I smoke at NAVEX24?
Smoking is not allowed at RSS Singapura — Changi Naval Base and the Singapore Navy Museum.
8. Can I bring my pets along with me?
Pets are not allowed at NAVEX24.
9. Is there anything else that I should take note of? What can I not bring on board the ship?
Security checks will be carried out at Changi City Point before visitors are allowed to board the bus. Therefore, visitors are strongly advised to avoid bringing large bags and bulky items to NAVEX24.
Prohibited items in RSS Singapura — Changi Naval Base:
- Weapons or replicas including but not limited to toy guns, air guns, and pellet guns.
- Sharp metal objects
- Electronic cigarettes or vape devices
- Other items that may be considered a security threat
Visitors will not be allowed entry with the prohibited item.
10. Do I need tickets to visit NAVEX24?
Tickets are required for NAVEX24. All tickets are free.
11. Why do I have to ballot for tickets?
Balloting of tickets is required to facilitate crowd management as a high volume of visitors is expected.
12. How do I know if I have successfully balloted for a ticket?
Visitors who have successfully balloted for tickets will be notified by 1 November 2024 via their email address that they have provided.
13. Do I have to print the confirmation email or e-ticket?
You may show the confirmation email or e-ticket through your mobile phone for verification purposes.
14. I have accidentally deleted the confirmation email. How can I retrieve it?
You can submit a request to us at navyexperience2024@defence.gov.sg, using the email that you had registered with us. Please provide name and contact number. Upon validation, we will re-issue the e-ticket.
15. I have received an email from the Singapore Navy requesting additional information for my ballot attempt, what should I do?
The NAVEX24 Committee will not ask for any additional information beyond what was requested in the ballot form. Should you receive a request, please inform us at
navyexperience2024@defence.gov.sg.
16. What should I do if I encounter a possible phishing scam related to NAVEX24?
If you encounter a possible phishing email relating to NAVEX24, please inform us at navyexperience2024@defence.gov.sg and make a police report if deemed necessary.
17. Do I need a separate ticket for the ship visit?
A separate ticket will not be required for the ship visit. Your balloted ticket will allow you access to all available activities at NAVEX24.
18. Am I able to change the time slot and/or date of my tickets?
We are unable to change the timing of tickets that have been balloted due to the huge volume of applications expected.
19. Am I allowed to re-enter the ship after visiting?
No re-entry is allowed.
20. Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
You may transfer your ticket to your friend or family member by providing them with the email confirmation. However, do note that utilised tickets cannot be reused.
21. Can I sell my ticket or buy a ticket from online and/or physical platforms? Will the ticket be valid?
Reselling of tickets is not allowed. The Republic of Singapore Navy reserves the right to cancel any tickets that are not obtained through official channels. The Republic of Singapore Navy is not responsible for guaranteeing the authenticity of tickets not obtained directly through the Republic of Singapore Navy, and the loss of cash or kind as a result.
22. Are there any age requirements to attend NAVEX24 or to board the ship?
There are no age requirements to attend NAVEX24. All visitors, including toddler and infant, will need a ticket to participate in NAVEX24. However, for safety reasons, visitors who are unable to make their way on board the frigate independently, or with minimal assistance, will not be allowed to participate in the ship visit. As such, infant-in-arms (including in baby carriers) will not be allowed to board the frigate due to steep staircases and narrow passageways on board the ship.
23. What if I am late for my balloted time? Can I go on the next visit?
Visitors are advised to arrive at the registration booth at Changi City Point within their allocated time slot to facilitate the registration and security checks. Latecomers will only be registered at the Republic of Singapore Navy's discretion and subject to space and availability.
24. Are there any restrictions on who can participate in the ship visit?
For safety reasons, visitors who are unable to make their way on board the frigate independently, or with minimal assistance, will not be allowed to participate in either the ship visit. As such, visitors with mobility difficulties, infant-in-arms (including in baby carriers) or pregnant women will not be allowed to board the frigate due to steep staircases and narrow passageways on board the ship.
25. Is there a dress code for the ship visit?
For safety reasons, high heels, sandals, slippers or any open-toed footwear are strictly prohibited. Ladies are advised to wear pants or shorts for the visit and to avoid wearing skirts or dresses.
26. Is there insurance coverage for visitors on board the ship?
While the ship visit has been planned and designed with safety in mind, there are still some inherent risks involved. Visitors are responsible for their own safety, and need to agree to our Terms and Conditions. The Terms and Conditions can be found on the balloting form.
27. Do I have to sign an indemnity form before boarding the ship?
Visitors will need to agree to our Terms and Conditions before balloting for tickets.
28. What happens if there is inclement weather?
Outdoor activity such as the Ship Visit will cease in the event of foul weather. Other indoor activities such as the Windshield Tour, Singapore Navy Museum and Vocation Arena @ INVENT Campus remain open.
29. Am I allowed to bring food on board the ship?
Food and drinks are not allowed on board the ship.
30. Can I smoke on board the ship?
Smoking is not allowed on board the ship.
