Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen Reaffirms Strong Defence Ties with Counterparts on the sidelines of the 60th Munich Security Conference

 

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen called on German Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. During their meeting, Dr Ng and Mr Pistorius reaffirmed the warm and growing defence relations between Singapore and Germany. Dr Ng expressed appreciation for the German Federal Ministry of Defence's support for the SAF's training in Germany since 2009. Both sides also exchanged views on geopolitical and security developments. Dr Ng will also be attending a standing luncheon hosted by Mr Pistorius.

On the sidelines of the 60th Munich Security Conference, Dr Ng also had bilateral engagements with the Canadian Minister of National Defence Bill Blair, Malaysian Minister of Defence Mohamed Khaled Nordin, the United Kingdom Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps and Senator for Hawaii and Member of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Brian Schatz. Dr Ng will also be meeting the Former US Secretary of Defense and Senior Counselor of Cohen Group Jim Mattis later today.
