Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen called on German Federal Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. During their meeting, Dr Ng and Mr Pistorius reaffirmed the strong and substantive defence relations between Singapore and Germany. Dr Ng expressed appreciation for the German Federal Ministry of Defence’s support for the SAF’s training in Germany since 2009. Both sides also exchanged views on geopolitical and security developments.

On the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference, Dr Ng also had a bilateral engagement with Italian Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto.

Earlier this morning, Dr Ng spoke at the Aspen Strategy Group (ASG) and Amazon Web Services roundtable on the topic “Allied Artificial Intelligence: Strengthening the Technological Edge” and at the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt Annual Leaders roundtable on the topic “On the Horns of a Trilemma: Geopolitical Fragmentation, Technological Leadership and Energy Security”.
