Do's and Don'ts for Mobilisation

Unable to Participate in Manning

Overseas Travel

During Manning or Mobilisation, you are not allowed to travel overseas regardless of the travel duration. You are required to seek approval from your unit’s Commanding Officer (CO) or equivalent before travelling out of Singapore.

Special arrangements for reporting late during Mobilisation

Do consider to request for special arrangements during manning if you are unable to report immediately, if activated for mobilisation. This is to minimise disruption to your civilian responsibilities when a mobilisation exercise is held. You can request for special arrangements if:
  • You are required to perform an emergency service
  • Your immediate absence from your work place may be critical or hazardous to life
As soon as your civilian responsibilities are over, you should inform your immediate commander and report to the mobilisation centre.

Application for Excuse on Mobilisation

If you have commitments such as the above mentioned that are deterring your participation in Manning, you should seek approval for excuse from reporting for mobilisation, if activated. This can be done via Manage Call-Ups & Manning on the NS Portal. The request should be submitted with the necessary supporting documents, allowing up to 14 days for processing. Such requests will be reviewed and granted on a case-by-case basis.

Unable to report during Mobilisation

If you are unable to report during mobilisation without prior approval for excuse i.e. medical, personal or work commitment, you have to contact your immediate commander or the mobilisation centre to seek approval directly. If you fail to report, you will be called back for investigation and may be subjected to disciplinary action.
