Institute for Military Learning, previously know as Centre for Learning and Military Education (CLME), is established to develop competent, confident and committed SAF Instructors through training courses and continuing professional education programmes for all SAF instructors.

SAF Centre for Leadership Development (CLD) was established to promote Leadership excellence and to spearhead Leadership Development (LD) in the SAF. By researching and developing timely and relevant LD programmes, processes and practices, CLD seeks to develop highly effective and committed SAF Leaders, Commanders and Command Teams.

The Centre for Learning Systems (CLS) is established in Oct 2013 to plan and transform the SAF curriculum architecture, pedagogical practices and learning technologies. CLS interfaces with the various Services training policy and plans departments to harmonise the planning and implementing of policies and projects for Services’ Training Commands. CLS leads the advancement of the SAF learning landscape, processes and infrastructure.

The SAF Education Office is the central agency that coordinates and synchronizes all efforts in Professional Military Education and Training (PMET) and Continuing Education (CE) to meet the SAF's intent to increase the engagement of all SAF personnel, through enhanced education and accreditation of their leadership and work experience acquired during operational missions and on-the-job projects.

The Service Support Unit (then) was set up in 1994 to provide mainly logistic support to the SAFTI Military Institute. The scope of SAFTI Services Cluster includes Resource Management, Budget Control and Estate Management.

SAFTI MI Human Resource Centre comprises of 3 main branches: HR Development (HR Devmt), Regimentation & Ceremonies (R&C) and Student Affairs (SA).HR Devmt Branch manages a spectrum of core HR functions from courses, service extensions, staffing and deployment, career management, rewards and recognition to performance management for SAFTI MI permanent staff.

The idea of an Alumni of SAFTI graduates was first mooted by BG (NS) Lee Hsien Loong in a speech delivered at the Nov '87 Graduation Ceremony, when he spoke of the need to build up the Officer Corps tradition, to establish the "roots" of SAFTI so that its spirit and the values it embodies are maintained.

The SAFTI Library was formed in Sept 1994 with the merger of the former SAFTI Library at Pasir Laba Camp and the Singapore Command and Staff College (SCSC) Library. It was shifted to its present premise in SAFTI MI in Apr 1995. The SAFTI MI Library is currently managed by Centre for Learning Systems.
