Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen presented The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Scholarship to six recipients, Public Service Commission (PSC) Scholarship (Engineering) – Defence and Security to five recipients, SAF Merit Scholarship to 22 recipients, SAF Engineering Scholarship to five recipients, Defence Merit Scholarship to 17 recipients, SAF Medicine Scholarship to eight recipients, and Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) Scholarship to 34 recipients at a scholarship awards ceremony held at the Istana on 14 August 2023.

On 9th Apr 18, 40 students from various institutions were shortlisted to attend the assessment for SYLA 2018. They participated in various case study discussions and went on an experiential visit on board the littoral mission vessel RSS Sovereignty as they joined the ship for its Maritime Surveillance and Naval Presence (MSNP) Patrol.

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen presented The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Scholarship to seven recipients, the newly-introduced SAF Engineering Scholarship to three recipients, the SAF Merit Scholarship to 23 recipients as well as the Defence Merit Scholarship to 14 recipients at a scholarship awards ceremony held at the Istana. Of the 47 scholarship recipients, 20 of them were female. This is the largest batch of MINDEF/SAF scholarship recipients to date, and reflects the increased interest among young Singaporeans in contributing to Singapore's defence and security.
