MISSION
To develop Air Force leaders and professionals committed to the mission of the RSAF, steeped in core values with strong foundational competencies.
HQ AFTC is responsible for overseeing the daily operations that ensure that trainees receive the highest-quality training possible.
FTI oversees and brings all flying training schools for manned and unmanned platforms under the same roof, instilling a stronger sense of the flying mission in the vocation. It also allows the RSAF to better align the flying curriculum for the various platforms. Flying instructional standards and best practices within the RSAF are also better governed through the Standards Squadron.
AWTI oversees all ground training for the airmen, including ground training for pilot and UAV trainees, as well as trainees in the Command, Control and Communication (C3) and Ground-based Air Defence (GBAD) and engineer vocations. The centralised nature of the set-up will inculcate a stronger sense of air warfare in the 3rd Generation airmen, regardless of their vocation in the RSAF.
AETI oversees ab-initio and ROA (Route-of-Advancement) training in engineering and logistics for the Air Force Engineer vocation. Besides professional competency development to build up the engineering and logistics capabilities in the 3rd Generation RSAF, AETI will also provide the focus to inculcate the RSAF Core Values and a strong sense of purpose amongst our AFEs. In addition, it will serve to nurture, engage and foster a strong identity for all AFEs to achieve mission success. AETI consists of the Training Planning, Control and Standards Branch (TPCSB) and five Schools, namely Advanced AFE( ADV AFE), Aircraft Engineering (AE), Civil Engineering (CE), Supply Chain (SC) and Networks, C2 and Air Defence (NCA) Schools.
TDG anchors the development of personal competencies, common curriculum, training pedagogies and learning sciences for the RSAF to provide a more rounded training and development for the 3rd Generation airman. It also facilitates the planning and conduct of new professional development courses for the RSAF servicemen and trainers to ensure that the courses provide the latest content and are the most relevant to the RSAF's needs. TDG is also responsible for the leadership development and inculcation of core values within the RSAF. To that end, TDG works closely with its training counterparts from the Army, Navy and SAFTI Military Institute, and professional institutions such as Institutes of Higher Learning.
